Project Bible 365: Day (06)
I will be the first to openly admit, becoming a Christian is not as easy as it looks on paper. I say this because self discpline is a big part becoming a born again believer. What is self discpline? It’s paying no attention to the things that are of the world. It’s about looking to Jesus for guidance on a daily basis. With that being said, I want to ask two question one to my readers and one to the publishers of Relevant Magazine. First to my readers, As a Christian what do you look for in the makeup of a faith based magazine? Secondly, I must ask Relevant who makes the decisions as to what goes into the magazine and how much of the magazine sales is based on a flashy front cover?
What if I put America’s Christianity on trial would that wake a faithless nation up? I question who is America’s idols, and no I’m not talking about a reality show about music. America is a faithless nation and the reason they are a faithless nation is because the power of prayer and Bibles were taken out of school… Instead our youth in school these days are reading books about wizards, vampires and a certain depiction of the theory of the strong only survive. What is wrong with this picture??? Can anybody guess? It’s the devil’s world… He loves to use his falsehoods to spread his smelly garbage. When I’m saying the words smelly garbage I’m not acknowledging a character from a beloved children’s program. One thing that really urkes me as a Christian is that a few months back Relevant Magazine covered a story about Kanye West creating a video, and the game is about heaven…. On the surface this seems innocent. However if you look a little bit more into the man’s ego and motive you can read that the known as Mr. West has re-written the Bible in his own likeness. The writer of Kanye West Bible replaced every mention of God, with the words Kanye West putting aside the anger I currently have over this issue the fact that Relevant Magazine covered the story of the video game puts them as a publishing company who produces Christian content on dangerous ground. At this time, if no one is willing to take up the challenge to defend God than please allow me to. The rapper/singer songwritter has blasphamed aganist Our Lord. How do I know this? I take everything back to the Word of God.
Revelation 22:19King James Version (KJV)
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Galatians 1:8-9King James Version (KJV)
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
It makes me laugh when people tell me they’re saved through the blood of Jesus and yet they still are steeped in their own sin. They smoke, they listen to rock and roll which is obviously the devil’s beat, and yet people tell me they’re saved. My response to their claims is ” The devil makes idiots.” It’s foolish thinking when someone claims that they are going to heaven because they can sing a church hynm on Sunday for service. Here is the thing about Relevant they have good stories and articles every now and than much like Christianity should not be “cool”
Allow me to borrow some of Relevant’s own magazine content on the true concept of the Christian culture.
The title of the article is, Christianity Should Not Be Cool
Oscar Wilde said it well with this statement about fashion: “Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.”
But even when “cool” is exposed as unstable—whether by the quantitative data of science or the rhetoric of literature—we are still bound by its lure.
When local church communities build upon what’s “cool,” we perpetuate the plague of transience in our society. We encourage people to constantly view things through the eyes of the consumer and make decisions based on cultural trends. As long as we pursue trends for the sake of trends, we will reinforce the developed tendency of Westerners to be in a constant state of detachment from the people around them in their pursuit of the ever-changing palate of consumable goods, thoughts and attitudes.

We are called to be a seperated people. We are called to simply live in the world, not be apart of it and it’s culture. I formerly apologize to the Christian rock and rollers and rap artists. You’re climbing up to heaven the wrong way…..
This concludes today’s message on Project Bible 365 (Day 06)
How Relevant is Relevant Magazine?
