Sinful Sporting Sundays

Project 2.11.SundayMorningSports_643280978Bible 365 Day 42: Sinful Sporting Sundays

I have discussed this matter over and over in my mind trying to wrap my head around why sports fans would travel thousands of miles to see a football game, a hockey game, basketball game and even to other countries to watch a soccer game rather than attend Church? How did we get so far away from the truth? How did something so simple at one time become so complex to understand? Where did we go wrong as a people who believed in the truth? It wasn’t always like this, years ago musicians weren’t wearing scantily clad clothing. Years ago, a moral code of ethics were the foundation of any  Godly home.  I can tell you where we went wrong. We as a society have let our eyes dictate our lives we have allowed that to happen through the use of media and television. We as a people have chosen to be entertained more than enlightened and humbled by the Gospel.  We as a people have decided that hearing the stories of Jesus are too far beyond our own understanding, but rather we give place to movies that celebrate witchcraft , vampires and all kinds of evil pertaining to the lust of the flesh. It’s evil, evil, evil and IT MUST STOP.

The general population have strayed so far away from the truth that they can’t even find a ruler big enough to measure it. How can you measure truth? The answer is simple, simply shut off the television and be still to hear the voice of God.

Does anybody in the world wonder why sporting events happen on Sundays?

The answer:  It’s too keep people out of church and entertained by the television rather by educated by the Gospel of God’s light. Sporting events featured on Sundays in a strategy of the devil and don’t you forget it dear children.

1 John 2:15-16King James Version (KJV)

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

It is any wonder why the Apostle Paul wrote to the Romans in Romans Chapter 12:2 these sacred words.

Romans 12:2King James Version (KJV)

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

How can we as people renew our mind by watching violent programs that are degrading filthy and nasty if we choose to watch programs that showcase violence, crime and other degrading programing that have no business being on television and we as God’s people certainly have no business watching trash like that.

There are some people that will say  to me that “I don’t need to go to church to believe in God. I can watch it on television.”   When I hear this I become concerned because for people just interested in a 30 minute Gospel program with 15 minutes of commercials   are really feeding on the Word. They are simply just comforting their mind for a little while.

Most ministry programs aren’t right anyway. All except for one. I am so very to  please to be apart of the one ministry that counts souls worthy. My unsaved family members love to debate with me on the subject of a perfect church. Saying there is no such thing as a perfect church. All I have to say back to them is six words. “The Church of Philadelphia was Perfect” and than I keep marching on for God. phil

Revelation 3:7-13King James Version (KJV)

And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Perfection is a must, Sports is for the dust.
